SharePoint Migration Tool

Moving to the cloud can be a challenge to say the least. One of the more cumbersome bits is how to forklift decades of data to the cloud, but keep ease of access while maintaining security. Leed Computer Consulting has used many methods to do this. From web clients to PowerShell scripts. We have found that while the OneDrive client software can be reliable data mover larger workloads require something else. If you are facing moving over 250GB of data we suggest using the SharePoint Migration Tool. Here’s a link to learn more and download SPMT from Microsoft.

Office 365 Phishing

This is starting to become a big problem. If you use Office 365, be aware of emails with links that take you to a login page. Some email forgeries can be very convincing, but take a closer look. Before clicking a link, you should verify that the link is leading you to a real website. This is especially important if you are asked to provide your username and password. The simplest method we’ve found is to hover your mouse over the links in the email to expose where they lead to. Even if the link uses HTTPS, make sure the URL leads to something easily recognized as legitimate. Note the link in this email goes to a non-Microsoft website.
